I have worked on this wardrobe for twenty years, and I understand it a little better each year. I make small adjustments, and many of them are subtractions or simplifications.

Instead of making clothes for a range of life moments, I focus on one: everyday life. Instead of jeans and khakis, I choose jeans. Instead of multiple fabrics within a category, I look for the single best one. I trade variety for consistency.

Fit options are the most challenging part of running this business. I keep them because each one is important to someone. The wardrobe offers you long-term consistency. It is an exit from the constant change of the clothing industry. You can read my design references here.
